Melón con Jamón (Melon with Serrano ham)

Summer is slowly arriving to the UK and I start to crave those fresh summery dishes my family prepared. I don't usually have much time to cook during the week but this dish is very quick and very tasty. I had it as my dinner, but you could have it as a starter or as party food.

Serves 1
  • 3 slices of Serrano ham
  • 2 slices of melon (I prefer "piel de sapo", which is the one I always had at home, but any other would do).
  • juice of 1/2 lemon (optional)
  • 2 Tbps honey (optional)

  1. Cut the skin off the melon and dice into triangles of around 3 cm wide
  2. Cut strips of the Serrano ham of approximately 2 cm thick

    3.   Wrap the ham around the melon and fix with a toothpick
    4.   If you want to add the lemon and honey to add extra flavor, mix the lemon juice and the honey and drizzle over the food.

And that's it, it's that easy! And it tastes amazing!
